Chocolate Banana Nut Butter Smoothie

MAKES 1 (12 OUNCE) SMOOTHIE
This chocolate smoothie uses raw cacao and is sweetened with dates. Blend in bananas and your favorite nut butter for a delicious smoothie packed with calcium, iron, potassium, protein, and healthy fats.

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces plant-based milk
  • 1 1/2 bananas
  • 1/4 cup nut butter (any variety)
  • 3 dates (pitted)
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder (plus more for garnish)
  • Sprinkle of ice
  • Optional:
  • 1 scoop protein powder

Directions

  1. Pour milk into blender. Add remaining ingredients and protein powder, if desired.
  2. Blend on high until smooth.
  3. Pour in a glass. Garnish with a sprinkle of cocoa powder.
