Oven-Baked Bacon

This is the best way to ensure perfectly cooked bacon with little mess - especially when feeding a crowd. It also allows for taking care of other things (like pancakes and eggs) while it bakes.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound bacon

Directions

  1. Adjust oven rack to middle position. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Arrange bacon slices in a single layer on large, rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment or foil. If you have a rack that fits within the baking sheet, place bacon on rack for extra crispy bacon that stays out of the fat while baking.
  3. Bake 12 to 15 minutes for thinner bacon and 18 to 20 for thick-cut or until done as desired. Using a paper towel, pat bacon dry of excess fat.
