Peach Crisp

Ingredients

FILLING

  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 pounds peaches (cut into 1/2-inch slices (about 8 cups))

TOPPING

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (walnuts or almonds)

Optional Ingredients

  • Vanilla ice cream or sweetened whipped cream

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Make filling: In a large bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, lemon juice, and cinnamon. Stir to blend well. Add sliced fruit and toss. Place in prepared baking dish.
  3. Make topping: In small bowl, combine flour, sugar, and cinnamon. Stir in butter. Mix in nuts. Sprinkle mixture over peaches.
  4. Bake 20 to 30 minutes or until peaches are tender and topping is golden.
  5. Cool on wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature with ice cream or whipped cream.
