Spiced Orange-Cranberry Sauce
MAKES ABOUT 3 CUPS
Make this easy cranberry sauce up to three days ahead. Bring sauce to room temperature before serving.
Ingredients
- 12 ounces fresh cranberries
- 1 cup fresh orange juice
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1-inch piece ginger root (peeled and sliced crosswise into coins)
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- Kosher salt (to taste)
- Pepper (to taste)
Directions
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine cranberries, orange juice, sugar, cinnamon stick, and ginger root.
- Bring to a simmer, stirring to dissolve sugar. Continue to cook until cranberries have popped and sauce has thickened, about 15 minutes.
- Serve at room temperature or transfer to a covered container and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
