Strawberry Frosé (Frozen Batch Cocktail)

Serves 6
This fun summer drink goes down easy and is great on a hot day. Try flavoring the simple syrup for an interesting twist.

Ingredients

  • 1 (750 ml) bottle rosé
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 pint strawberries (hulled)

Directions

  1. Pour rosé into a 13 x 9-inch baking dish. Freeze at least 4 hours or overnight. Due to the alcohol content, it won't freeze solid.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine sugar and 1/4 cup water over medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves. Refrigerate simple syrup until cold.
  3. Combine berries and simple syrup in blender. Spoon in frozen rosé and puree until smooth. Serve immediately or store blender pitcher in freezer until ready to serve. Re-blend until slushy, if made ahead.
  4. Cook's Note:
  5. For additional flavor, add 1/2 cup mint or basil leaves to simple syrup after removing from heat. Infuse syrup 30 minutes. Strain through a fine mesh sieve and refrigerate until ready to use.
