Strawberry Frosé (Frozen Batch Cocktail)
Serves 6
This fun summer drink goes down easy and is great on a hot day. Try flavoring the simple syrup for an interesting twist.
Ingredients
- 1 (750 ml) bottle rosé
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 pint strawberries (hulled)
Directions
- Pour rosé into a 13 x 9-inch baking dish. Freeze at least 4 hours or overnight. Due to the alcohol content, it won't freeze solid.
- In a small saucepan, combine sugar and 1/4 cup water over medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves. Refrigerate simple syrup until cold.
- Combine berries and simple syrup in blender. Spoon in frozen rosé and puree until smooth. Serve immediately or store blender pitcher in freezer until ready to serve. Re-blend until slushy, if made ahead.
- Cook's Note:
- For additional flavor, add 1/2 cup mint or basil leaves to simple syrup after removing from heat. Infuse syrup 30 minutes. Strain through a fine mesh sieve and refrigerate until ready to use.
