Brown Butter Streusel Baked Oatmeal

Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup frozen, tart, pie cherries
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 4 cups milk ((any variety))
  • 2 bananas (sliced)
  • Topping:
  • 1/4 cup Brown Butter Almond Streusel Topping

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Butter an 8-inch square baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine oats, cherries, brown sugar, and salt. Add milk and bananas and stir. Pour into prepared baking dish and bake 20 minutes.
  3. While oatmeal is baking, prepare streusel topping.
  4. Remove oatmeal from oven and sprinkle with streusel topping. Return to oven and bake an additional 30 to 40 minutes until golden and crispy on top.
  5. Serve with a poached egg, if desired.
